Back Bucket

What would make the bucket back hoe to not maintain its position when the lever becomes less?

I have a small back hoe in tractor, and I've been using, and then began the cube (leak down) or not have their place. I've been using the hoe back daily for a week without problems. Thanks in advance, Zoomer
