what can i do with my horse ?
what can i do with my new horse until i get his last bits of tack i have head collar and lead rope .bridle with reins and saddle i only need stirrup irons,bit and girth. Any leading exercises ?
Well, my simple bit of advice is practice Showmanship, getting your horse to respect your space if he doesn't already, playing games with him. Get him to do patterns, like trot to cone A, walk to cone B, do a 90 degree haunch turn (when the forehand turns around the haunches) trot to cone C, and have your horse square up (have him put his feet on each corner of a rectangle).
You can do a lot with a horse that's not riding. I like to walk my horse over poles, trot her over poles, maybe lunge her a bit? She's an Arab and very high maintenence and nervous, so playing mind games with her makes her happy.
Personally, I would also suggest just getting to know your horse. Pet her, talk to her, spend time with her. I'm sure you guys will make a great team
